Everything you need to know about Joker 2 as sequel releases this Friday
The highly-anticipated sequel to Joker will be releasing this Friday in cinemas and fans can't wait to watch it. Joaquin Phoenix will be reprising his role as Joker in Folie à Deux and this time around, he'll be joined by Lady Gaga who will be playing Harley Quinn.
Aside from the leading pair, the film also stars Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Zazie Beetz, Steve Coogan, Harry Lawtey and Bill Smitrovich. It's been directed by Todd Phillips who helmed the first film as well as The Hangover franchise and Starsky & Hutch.
The movie follows Arthur Fleck who has been institulionaised at Arkham awaiting for his crimes as the Joker. As he attempts to navigate his dual identity, Arthur meets Harleen (played by Lady Gaga) and not only does he find love but the music inside of him.
Since the trailer was released, fans have been sharing their excitement for the film and have taken to YouTube to express their thoughts. One excited fan penned: "This is how a trailer should be. Studios take note. They didn't show the whole damn movie in a trailer and it was still great!"
Another movie-enthusiast wrote: "I think Joaquin Phoenix could make history in winning winning his second Oscar for playing the exact same role. That would be epic!" Somebody else gushed: "This is how you cut a trailer. Had me hyped without knowing what happens. Absolutely stoked for this."

A fifth said: "As someone who wasn't a fan when they announced this movie as a musical, this trailer really sells why this works.
"They are two crazy people who just bust out into songs to describe the situation. It fits their characters really well."
While a sixth added: "Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga are going to give one of the best acting duo of the year. So happy to see them in a movie together."

Joker released back in 2019 and became a humongous hit, garnering over $1.079 billion, making it the first R-rated film to make over $1 billion.
It went on to receive many accolades, including two Academy Awards wins at the 92nd Academy Awards.
Joaquin won the award for Best Actor while the movie also won Best Original Score, alongside 11 nominations.
