Simone Inzaghi and his dad have each taken their stance over Man Utd job
Simone Inzaghi has emerged as a strong contender to succeed Ten Hag at Old Trafford, with former England manager Gareth Southgate listed as another option. Despite Ten Hag receiving a one-year contract extension in the summer, it's reported that United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe will be assessing the manager's future during the October international break.
A poor start to the season for United has led to speculation that Inzaghi could be the next man in the hotseat. However, this isn't the first time that the Inter manager has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, having previously shared his thoughts on the possibility earlier this year.

There's no point in talking about it, we still have three months to keep our concentration crazy. We don't care about anything else, the club itself wants us to continue playing in the same way."

A recent report from Inter Live, though, suggests that Inzaghi has caught the eye of several Premier League clubs and is 'fascinated' by the prospect of managing Manchester United.

However, his dedication to Inter remains strong, proven by a contract extension until 2026 signed in July. While the Daily Star suggest United are big admirers still, it could be trickier now to prise him away.
His father Giancarlo Inzaghi also echoed those sentiments, telling Tuttomercatoweb in April: "Future in the Premier League? From abroad, I witnessed a bombardment that lasted several days. But Inter remained in my mind. It is a club with serious people and there's a good relationship (between Inzaghi and the bosses).
"There may have been a few clouds, but they are decent people and you couldn't ask for anything better. And, in any case, (Inzaghi) costs dearly now!"

While the Inzaghi family has shown their loyalty to Inter, Ten Hag faces increasing speculation about his future as United's form continues to stall. Following a lacklustre start that sees United sit in 12th place, pressure is mounting on the Dutch manager, but he was undeterred by questions about his job.
"No I am not thinking about this," Ten Hag said when asked whether facing the sack was on his mind. "We all made this decision to stay together in summer, as ownership group, leadership group. Also we made the decision, after a clear review, what we have to improve as an organisation and how to construct a squad.
"All decisions made in togetherness, also knowing it would take some time. We are all there on one page, one boat, the ownership, the leadership group, the staff, players too."
