Strictly Come Dancing viewers were baffled by Tess Daly's appearance tonight for the second time in only three episodes of the hit BBC dance show's 2024 series.

The blonde 50-year-old wife of Vernon Kay is a stalwart of the series alongside co-host Claudia Winkleman but her choice of short sleeved black dress with silver adornments left a lot of BBC viewerd baffled during the results show on Sunday night.

Tess wore a short sleeved number with a large ruffled cuff which gave the appearance that her arm was comically thin.

Others thought the dress looked too festive to fit with the gothic opening dance theme.

It is the second time viewers felt something was different about Tess, with some questioning her new look on the first episode of the series two weeks ago. 

Tonight will mark the first dance off and first elimination of the series by public vote.

The first week all couples get a bye into week two, and the joint leaderboard for the first two weeks of dances will be used to form a leaderboard.

The judges scores will be added to the weighting along with the public vote and those who fall into the bottom two with both combined will face having to dance again - and ultimately one couple will be going home already.
