Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen sobs 'going to miss him' after heartbreaking loss

Our Yorkshire Farm: Tragic moment passes away

Amanda Owen, the star of Our Yorkshire Farm, struggled to hold back her tears as she bid farewell to Little Joe, one of their cherished Shetland ponies.

In a rerun episode that originally aired in 2021, Amanda gathered her children in the stable and asked through her tears, "So what do you think, Nancy"

"He was quite good," her daughter responded, prompting the Shepherdess to tearfully agree: "He was good, wasn't he? ".

Nancy continued, pointing to another horse and asking, "He loved everything that we did for him, is that horse going to die?"

"Tony? " Amanda replied before clarifying: "No, Tony is just young," reports Yorkshire Live.

Nancy then questioned her mother, "What happened? Did he get old to die?"

"He did, he didn't suffer, he just dropped," Amanda explained. "He just had a heart attack."

Nancy reassured her mother that she took "really well" care of the horse, adding, "He has been fed really good and he's grown a lot and he's really cosy."

"I don't think there could be a better looked-after pony," Amanda comforted her children.

The family then gathered around the pony to say their final goodbyes. Amanda turned the camera towards herself and confessed, "We're going to miss him."

Since Our Yorkshire Farm concluded, most of the Owen children have kept a low profile, with the exception of Reuben who launched his own Channel 5 series.

However, the Owen family are set to reunite for a new show, which will hit screens very soon.

The programme's synopsis reveals: "After buying a run-down property nearby, for their family's future, Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive, and Kids will follow their journey to breathe life back into the home.

"In addition to Amanda and Clive's nine children, local tradespeople will be enlisted to revamp the farmhouse, locally known as Anty John's.

"However, the project won't be easy as they'll have to contend with the changing seasons and elements while restoring a listed property in a remote location."

Expressing her excitement about her TV return, Amanda said: "It is fantastic More4 has given us the opportunity to showcase what we do best, working as a team and battling the elements whilst trying to reinstate the farm next door to its former glory.

"This new project has been a huge undertaking for the whole family and one we are excited to be able to share with the viewers at home."

Our Yorkshire Farm is available to watch on My5.
