Loose Women's Linda Robson shares rare family insight saying 'it worries me'

LW: Linda worries about grandkids becoming phone addicts

Loose Women's Linda Robson has voiced her concerns about her grandchildren's growing dependence on technology during Friday's episode of the ITV show.

The panel was discussing the potential dangers of the younger generation becoming overly reliant on their mobile phones.

When asked by host Kaye Adams about her own grandchildren, aged seven and 12, Linda confirmed that they are indeed fond of their devices.

She said: "But, Lauren (their mum), doesn't let them have it lot, mostly during the week she takes the phone and the laptops off of them."

However, Linda noted that when she is in charge, they immediately request a laptop or phone, reports the Mirror.

She continued: "I said, 'Bets why don't we play a game? Let's play cars or something or let's watch a film together. She couldn't think straight, she wanted the phone or the laptop. In the end, I gave her the laptop."

Despite this, Linda admitted that her older granddaughter, who recently started secondary school, does need a phone.

She observed: "I have noticed that their behaviour has changed because of the phones and the laptops.

"Instead of spending time doing things together, the three of us, even if we go to a restaurant they'll want my phone or they'll want something."

When Kaye asked if this reliance on devices was causing her concern, Linda responded: "It does worry me, but Lauren is on top of it as well. So she does make sure they don't have it too much.

"But every now and again, Lila will hide it and then Lauren will hear the beeping going off and take the phone off of her."

Frankie Bridge opened up about her own experiences, revealing that her children have actually told her off for phone usage.

She confessed: "If he ever says that I (gagging), it makes me feel sick! He's nine and he's telling me off you know."

The singer went on to describe the differences in her children's digital habits: "I have two very different children. My eldest is, I would say, addicted. He wants to game."

Thankfully, she added, her eldest's passion for football helps keep him balanced between screen time and the real world.
