A Place in The Sun: Ben's not confident with low offer

A Place in the Sun presenter Ben Hillman found himself in a rather awkward situation this Friday as his attempt to showcase local delights to a house-hunting couple took an unexpected turn.

During the repeated episode on Channel 4, Ben Hillman was escorting property-seekers Joan and Andrew around various venues that ticked their boxes.

In a momentary pause from their property quest, Ben whisked the couple away to explore activities in the vicinity of a prospective house.

Taken to Aguilas, Ben was keen to flaunt the exquisite gardens situated at the towns heart, much to the couple's admiration.

Ben exclaimed on Channel 4: "It's so amazing. This town square doesn't have pigeons; it has doves! I mean, that's got to be better, doesn't it?"

Amid their exploration, a bird darted between them, leaving Joan seemingly less than pleased, reports the Mirror.

Ben acknowledged: "That's amazing! Look at this. You don't look so keen actually. Let's move on."

They continued their hunt, visiting another potential home, with the facade receiving Joan's approval for its modernity.

The duo were captivated by the presence of three communal pools and ample exterior spaces, both in front and rear of the property, and looked forward to the interior tour.

While Ben remained outside with high hopes, Joan and Andrew were keenly inspecting the kitchen's generous countertops.

However, Andrew voiced a concern: "There's only one problem. I'm a little bit concerned about a damp patch I've spied in the living room."

Ben was greeted with conflicting feelings when he inquired about their opinions on the potential property after they revealed their concerns.

The host commented: "Ok, that's not a great start, is it? What does that mean for this property?".

The house hunters were frank with the Channel 4 celebrity, informing him that they were dismissing it entirely as they pressed on with their hunt.

Yet, by the time the programme concluded, Joan and Andrew had disregarded every place Ben showed them.

Though one option initially seemed favourable, its mountainous setting ultimately led them to discard it too.

Still, despite not securing their ideal retreat, their enthusiasm to pursue the perfect holiday home remained undiminished.

A Place in the Sun continues weekdays on Channel 4 from 4pm.
