ITV axes two major shows in schedule shake-up as one episode 'will never be aired'
ITV has reportedly given two shows the boot - the celebrity song contest Britain Get Singing and the Saturday Night Takeaway gameshow spin-off Ring My Bell.
According to TV Zone, the pilot episode of Ring My Bell will now likely never see the light of day. The show was expected to be hugely popular as it would have emulated the original segment in Saturday Night Takeaway, with producers "hacking" audience members' doorbell cameras around the country.
A series of games were on the menu, including fans rushing to be the first person to arrive at doors, or guess what happens next in a clip. The idea is already tried and tested, with it being a huge hit on Ant and Dec's show - but it is now the casualty of a savage shake-up.
Similarly, fans will be devastated to learn that Britain Get Singing is also off the cards, despite being seen as a Christmas Eve staple over the last couple of years. Last year, Roman Kemp hosted the action-packed celebrity event, as stars from Good Morning Britain, Love Island, Coronation Street, The Masked Singer and EastEnders all competed against each other in a jaw-dropping sing-off.
The Coronation Street team featuring the likes of Claire Sweeney and Lisa George were crowned the overall winners. However, EastEnders stars including Emma Barton and Sid Owen, put up some tough compettion with their rendition of 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough'.

Meanwhile, the groups all had to impress a team of scrupulous judges - The Masked Singer's Jonathan Ross, Blackeyed Peas' Will.i.am, Britain's Got Talent's Alesha Dixon and Queen's Adam Lambert.
While Corrie clinched victory in 2023, it was Loose Women who won the 2022 edition of the show, with a rendition of Bridge Over Troubled Water.
However, all hope might not be lost for the show, as TV Zone has reported that the door has been "left open for the format to return in the future".

The show, hosted by Harry Potter's Warwick Davis and later Sally Lindsay, was abruptly taken off air despite a backlog of episodes reportedly waiting to be screened.
The show's Twitter page has mysteriously disappeared from view too, with a message for those who click on it reading: "Account suspended. X suspends accounts which violate the X Rules."
An ITV spokesperson confirmed: "Tenable has been a much loved ITV game show since it launched in 2006. Whilst there are no brand new episodes currently planned, fans of the show can still watch over on ITVX."
