Man dies after police shooting in North Point

A police officer on Sunday fatally shot a man who was suspected of attacking his wife and mother at a North Point flat. The force said officers were called to the scene at Kam Ping Mansion in Kam Ping Street by the man's wife soon after 9pm. Reports say an officer opened fire as the suspect approached them. He was taken to Ruttonjee Hospital in Wan Chai, where he was declared dead a little over an hour later. It is understood that the case is being investigated by the Hong Kong Island Regional Crime Unit. Foootage taken by members of the public shows the injured man being placed into the ambulance with his head secured in a neck brace. Paramedics attempted cardiac resuscitation before driving away. Police remained on the scene in the early hours of Monday.
