ITV Coronation Street star 'reveals' how Gail Platt exits - and fans will be heartbroken
A Coronation Street actor has seemingly spilled the beans on a significant aspect of Gail Platt's highly anticipated departure plot.
Earlier in the year, it was announced that Helen Worth, who portrays Gail, would be exiting the series after an impressive 50-year tenure. The showrunners have assured fans that her exit will tug at the heartstrings.
The soap icon's dramatic departure is said to be part of a "major" new chapter for the Platt family. Initial plans included a comeback for Gail's former spouse, Martin Platt, played by Sean Wilson.

However, a recent slip by a Corrie star may have given away how Gail will bid farewell and it's bound to cause a stir. This week, Dee-Dee Bailey actress Channique Sterling-Brown posted a behind-the-scenes photo from the set on her Instagram Story, reports the Liverpool Echo.

But eagle-eyed fans spotted something telling in the image: an estate agent's sign in front of No. 8 Coronation Street, Gail's house, indicating that the property is on the market.
Currently, the household includes Gail's son David Platt, his wife Shona, and their children Max and Lily. Gail's other children, Nick Tilsley and Sarah Platt, reside in separate flats with their families.

Helen revealed that she would be leaving the beloved soap in June, expressing: "This year felt like the perfect time to leave the show after celebrating 50 years in the most wonderful job on the most wonderful street in the world. The past 50 years have flown by and I don't think the fact that I am leaving has quite sunk in yet."
Meanwhile, fans are apprehensive about the consequences of a significant change in the storyline, fearing it could spell a tragic end for Gail. Users on social media have expressed their theory, believing they've deciphered the character's exit, with worries that it might culminate in Gail's death.
An anxious fan posted: "Dear #Corrie producers.... whatever you do, DO NOT kill off Gail Platt." Whereas another expressed their concern, stating: "This scares me she's decided she wants Gail to be killed off instead. I'm actually scared."
