The study builds on the success of Easy Name Change’s Australian Name Change Survey, which has been running since 2011. That survey revealed notable shifts in attitudes toward married and legal name change, particularly in gender roles. They noted an increasing social acceptance of men taking their spouse’s surname. Now, Easy Name Change aims to capture similar insights in the U.S. to better understand how these changes are affecting people’s lives and decisions.
