The Grand Tour star  Jeremy Clarkson faced a significant setback during the latest series of his other Amazon Prime show, Clarkson's Farm. The former Top Gear star sadly lost several newborn piglets and struggled to turn a profit from farming alone. He was also hit with a closure notice from the council for Diddly Squat Farm.

Despite these challenges, his appearances on Clarkson's Farm and a hefty payout from The Grand Tour have significantly boosted his finances. But just how much is he worth?

Last year, reports suggested that the 63-year-old TV personality had amassed an estimated fortune of around £55 million. The former BBC presenter started his career humbly as a motoring journalist at the Rotherham Advertiser, but his earnings have skyrocketed since then.

He first joined Top Gear as a presenter in 1988, working for ten years before returning in 2002, eventually becoming the BBC's highest-paid star.

Despite the setback, Jeremy managed to bounce back, doubling his annual television salary to an estimated £3 million when he secured a presenting role on ITV's Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

Reports also suggest that he received a substantial payout after selling his 50 per cent stake in the production company Bedder 6, which held the rights to Top Gear.

Jeremy's career trajectory soared when he brokered an estimated £160 million deal with Amazon Prime to produce 36 episodes of The Grand Tour. However, Jeremy and his co-stars - Richard Hammond and James May - have enjoyed their last adventure as the show comes to a close with The Grand Tour: One for the Road.

He is thought to have continued raking in a £10 million annual income from his association with the show.

With the substantial earnings he was pulling in, along with a bustling showbiz lifestyle, retreating to a secluded Oxfordshire farm to cultivate food was a completely unforeseen career shift.

Jeremy later lamented that it was virtually impossible to turn a profit from it, with his direct earnings totalling a mere £114 in his first year.

Meanwhile, one of his advisers was left dumbfounded when he announced plans to launch his own beer brand.

However, he cleverly capitalised on his farming venture through the Amazon Prime show Clarkson's Farm, which documents his escapades on Diddly Squat Farm.

In the most recent series, Jeremy and his right-hand man Kaleb Cooper encountered a significant obstacle when their cider bottles exploded, prompting them to issue a public warning.

In a tense phone call, Jeremy informed Kaleb: "The cider is exploding."

He continued: "Immediately Kaleb and I rushed off to consult Rick, our lager brewer, about what had gone wrong."

Upon reaching their beer brewer, Rick, he proceeded to deliver the unfortunate news that "thousands" of bottles had burst.

Jeremy reportedly earns a whopping £25,000 for a single after-dinner speech. His television work, books, and magazine columns also contribute significantly to his estimated fortune of £55 million.

In addition, his classic car collection - boasting a Ferrari, Mercedes, Lamborghini, and McLaren - is believed to be worth over £500,000.

The Grand Tour: One For The Road is set to premiere on Friday, September 13, on Amazon Prime Video.
