Michael B. Jordan to Star in and Direct 'Thomas Crown Affair' Remake

Michael B. Jordan has another film lined up and this time it is to direct and star in the remake of the classic heist film Thomas Crown Affair. Deadline reports that Jordan is now signed to direct the film for Amazon MGM Studios and an exclusive theatrical release worldwide.

This film marks the third remake of the classic, the most recent starring Pierce Brosnan in 1999. Brosnan played the rich playboy who is a kleptomania, stealing art as a hobby before meeting his match in an insurance investigator who later fall for one another. The original 1968 film directed by Norman Jewison featured Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway.

Jordan and his Outlier Society banner have been working on the development of the project for a while now. Following the success of Creed III, Jordan was eager to get back in the director seat. With the remake, Drew Pearce has penned the script while Patrick McCormick and Marc Toberoff will also serve as producers. Pearce was in theaters this year for The Fall Guy starring Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling, writing the script for the action-packed film. Jordan is expected to be a part of Ryan Coogler's upcoming untitled event film from Warner Bros. which is mant to arrive in 2025.
