GB News presenters Nana Akua and Ellie Costello fronted the Breakfast Show on Thursday and were joined by royal expert Michael Cole. He discussed a potential dilemma for Prince Harry if his US visa were not to be extended, as he quizzed, "Where will he go?"

Judge Carl Nichols filed an order at the court in Washington after reviewing the Duke of Sussex’s US immigration documents for four months. The order is sealed meaning it has not been made public and earlier reports suggested it is unclear which way the judge ruled.

But Newsweek has since reported the case has been dropped meaning the public will almost certainly never see Harry's immigration paperwork.

The order relates to a case brought last year by the Heritage Foundation, a US right-wing think tank, over Duke of Sussex's mention of drug use in his memoir Spare.

Nana quizzed: "People have been asking how has he been able to secure a US visa?"

The royal correspondent explained: "In football terms, this is definitely a result for Prince Harry. Judge Carl Nichols has sealed the file on his application to have residence in the United States.

"On that form you have to fill in there is a question which says, 'Do you use drugs or have you ever been a drug addict?'

"If people tick the 'yes' box - there are exceptions - but normally the application would be refused and the person not be allowed to become a resident in the United States."

The royal expert suggested the outcome would "infuriate" the Heritage Foundation "which has been pushing the Department of Homeland Security to have this matter resolved".

But despite this Michael admitted the outcome is a "win" for the Sussexes but Harry may not remain in the US.

He went on: "Americans do take these matters very seriously and if Prince Harry has been given an exception, perhaps he hasn't filled in the form correctly we don't know because the file is sealed.

"It's important because Prince Harry's future is tied up in California. His daughter Princess Lilibet was born there. His future is very much there."

Michael suggested the duke could return to Canada but claimed the UK may not be an option for Harry.

He questioned: "If he were to be refused an extension on his visa the question could arise where would he go?

"Back to Canada where he was before? Back to this country? Well, of course, he couldn't do that.

"It's a difficult situation but definitely a win for Team Sussex."

Harry and his wife Meghan Markle moved to Montecito, California after they stepped from their senior roles while in the Royal Family.

The couple and their son Prince Archie moved to the US and they welcomed daughter Lilibet a year later.
