A Place in the Sun star Jean Johansson fights back tears as house-hunter gets emotional

A Place in the Sun: Laura Hamilton take couple to view property

A Place in the Sun presenter Jean Johansson was seen struggling to hold back her own tears in a poignant scene during the Channel 4 programme's latest instalment.

The touching episode saw Jean guiding siblings Catherine and Michael through their ultimate property viewing, which featured a fabulous three-bedroom apartment boasting a roof terrace in Puerto La Duquesa.

Catherine could not contain her amazement upon laying eyes on the apartment, becoming visibly emotional and confessing to a tearful reaction even before entering the residence.

Overcome with the breathtaking area, Catherine said: "It feels right. It feels brilliant. I'm tingling all over. I feel quite emotional, I just want to get in and see the property."

Asking why she was so emotional, Catherine admitted she didn't know but fought to maintain her composure as she continued: "You're going to make me cry on telly!"

Progressing into the complex's interior, Jean provided further details about the dwelling as she highlighted a rooftop area from where spectacular oceanic views could be seen, reports Wales Online.

Reacting to this, Michael was at a loss for words, responding: "Speechless, I'm speechless!"

While Jean lightly teased him for his rare moment of silence, Catherine confessed: "I'm in pieces, I'm gone. I'm not normally emotional."

Observing Catherine's emotional state appeared to resonate with Jean, prompting the host to reply: "Oh, don't you'll start me off, you really will."

Jean told the siblings to pause and take in the moment before disclosing that the coveted property they were exploring was listed for just shy of £194,000.

Jean was conscious that the apartment stretched to the upper limits of their budget but reassured them it ticked all their boxes.

Upon entering, Catherine and Michael were immediately impressed with the property.

When pressed by Jean for their verdict, the couple astonishingly decided to make an offer on the spot.

Overjoyed, Jean, a Channel 4 star said: "That is brilliant! I am so happy, you are not beating around the bush. I really wasn't expecting that you know. People usually need a couple of hours of consultation or phoning people at home."

The pair initially proposed £177,000, which Jean communicated to the estate agent.

Subsequently, a counteroffer of £190,000 came back from the seller.

Considering the deal, the siblings agreed that if furniture was included in the deal, they would proceed with the purchase.

To their delight, the estate agent confirmed the conditions were met, prompting Catherine's elated reaction as the property became theirs.

A Place in the Sun continues weekdays on Channel 4 from 4pm.
