Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill Credit Naomi For Simone Biles Tribute On WWE Smackdown

Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill say that their tribute to Olympian Simone Biles on Smackdown last month was Naomi’s idea. The trio appeared in gear inspired by the Olympic gold medalist on the August 23rd episode of Smackdown when they defeated the Unholy Union and Blair Davenport, and Belair and Cargill talked about the tribute in an interview with The Masked Man Show where Cargill said it was “all Naomi.”

“We talked about it before,” Belair said (per Fightful). “We were like, ‘Let’s do an Olympic-style gear,’ but then it was too late, and then we found out we were doing the Big Three, and then Naomi was like, ‘Let’s do this,’ and she sent us the leotards. That was Naomi’s idea, and we went with it.”

Belair continued, “I don’t know if [Biles has] seen it yet. I’ve talked to Simone before, about mental health, a lot. I came out with the documentary, the Chronicle with WWE where it highlighted a lot of mental health stuff, and Simone did her big one with mental health and advocating for it. We’ve talked before, but I don’t know if she’s seen it. I feel like her DMs are probably just flooded. Hopefully one day she will.

Cargill added, “We were posted on a lot of ESPN women pages, so it went pretty viral. So we’re hoping for it. Let’s hope for it.”

Belair and Cargill won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships back from the Unholy Union at Bash In Berlin.
