Series 2 of The Teacher is currently airing on Channel 5 with a new character caught up in a fresh scandal. The current series centres on art teacher Dani, portrayed by Kara Tointon, who embarks on an affair with her friend and colleague Jimmy Spencer, played by Will Mellor, amidst the disappearance of a school child.

When the missing child is discovered drowned in a lake, the art teacher finds herself under scrutiny, fabricating stories about her relationship with her colleague and unravelling the mystery behind the student's fate.

The premiere episode on Monday (September 9) unveiled the repercussions of Dani and Jimmy's affair and the tragic death during the school trip, hinting at the possible involvement of Dani's husband Tim, enacted by Emmett J Scanlan, in the sinister twist. Following the massive success of the first series, featuring Sheridan Smith, the latest series is anticipated to be a hit for Channel 5 and its streaming platform My5.

Audiences have been treated to picturesque views of the adventure park and its environs, leaving them curious about the filming location. Here's where The Teacher series 2 was shot.

Where was The Teacher series 2 filmed?

The adventure activity camp scenes were shot in Wicklow, Ireland, with filming taking place in March and April. Interestingly, it's the same location where the Netflix series Vikings was filmed, and lead actor Will Mellor was delighted to be shooting at such a breathtaking location.

Star Will Mellor took to social media to praise the stunning backdrops encountered during filming, saying: "We had some fantastic locations. Shooting at Lough Dan in Co Wicklow there was beautiful scenery to work in. It's where they shot Vikings... It was a stunning location."

He shared that the cast spent "for four or five days filming all the camping scenes" in the wooded area and mentioned the challenges faced with the unpredictable weather: "We had a bit of a challenging time with the weather," he noted. "The weather could come in at any point and we had a lot of stuff to do."

Kara Tointon disclosed her hectic travel schedule between Ireland, where the show was being filmed, and her new residence in Norway. She explained her commitment to family life: "Now I have children so my priority is to be at home as much as possible. I live in Norway now - we've upped sticks and we're there."

She elaborated on her routine, balancing work with family: "I travel back and forth, and in a way, I suppose I just I go with the peaks and troughs willingly because it gives me the opportunity to to be at home with my children."

Tointon also expressed her contentment with her current situation: "At the moment, we're settling into Norwegian lifestyle and loving it, and, and so I'm lucky. As promiscuous as it is, I'm lucky that I get those big moments where I was getting back on a Saturday [to Norway] and going back on a Sunday to Dublin. It was intense for that moment, and but it was worth getting back just for that 24 hours."

The choice of Ireland for filming The Teacher was easier for the crew, especially after The Teacher series 1 was shot in Budapest. City shots and buildings doubled for Bradford, alongside footage from Bradford.
