Strictly Come Dancing's Shayne Ward on one thing that convinced him to sign up

Loose Women: Shayne Ward thought he wasn't good enough for Strictly

During Monday’s instalment of Loose Women, the panel spoke to former X-Factor winner Shayne Ward ahead of his appearance this weekend on Strictly Come Dancing’s launch show.

Shayne told the panel that one of his daughters was extremely excited that he was going to be part of a big dancing show on TV as she enjoys the dresses and glamour of it all.

When Ruth Langsford wasted no time in asking how he was feeling ahead of his debut, Shayne replied: “I feel great! I feel as hungry now as I did back in 2005 on X Factor.”

As the photo of this year’s Strictly cast appeared on screen, Judi Love highlighted he had the chance to appear on the BBC show in the past.

He replied: “I always felt in myself that I wasn’t good enough to do it. I don't know why because we dance around and joke.

“I dance with my children every day but I kind of feel now that I’ve got kids, I see everything through completely different eyes and a different perspective.

“Everything I do now, they’re at the pinnacle, so everything I do now is to show them what daddy can do and still does.

“Now that I’m doing the show, it’s like Willow, Reign I’m going to do this for you.”

Shayne also told the Loose Women panel that he was going to take the self-doubting voice in his head and tell it to get out.

His appearance on the ITV show comes after the latest odds from BoyleSports have put the former Coronation Street star as the joint favourite to win the show, along with Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri.

Currently, his odds are 4/1 to raise the Glitterball, with Jamie Borthwick close behind with odds of 9/2.

Sadly, is looks as though Nick Knowles may be making an early exit with bookies having him last to win the show with odds of 66/1.

Brian O’Keeffe, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said: “If the dancing is as electric as the betting, we’re in for a real treat on this year’s Strictly.

Pete Wicks, Paul Merson, Wynne Evans, Toyah Wilcox and Punam Krishan are also taking to the dancefloor in the new series.

Loose Women is on ITV1 on weekdays at 12.30pm. Strictly Come Dancing returns to iPlayer and BBC One from 7.20pm on Saturday, September 14
