Inside Emmerdale Emma Barton star's real life as 'dead' character haunts Moira Dingle
Emmerdale's Emma Barton is set to make a shocking "return from the dead" in tonight's dramatic episode, as Moira Dingle begins to hallucinate and sees her old adversary.
Moira's mistaken belief that Ruby-Fox Milligan is Emma leads to a fire breaking out. A transformed Moira locks the barn and terrifies Ruby by firing a warning shot with her shotgun into the air.
The shot hits a light bulb, igniting a spark. A struggle for the shotgun ensues, culminating in Moira striking Ruby over the head. Meanwhile, the spark ignites the tractor fuel, rapidly escalating into a full-blown blaze.
However, a bewildered Moira freezes helplessly next to Ruby's unconscious body. Will they manage to escape the fire?, reports the Daily Star.

Emmerdale's Emma Barton "returns" in upcoming scenes (Image: ITV)Soap fans will recall that Moira was behind Emma's death in 2017. Her son Adam Barton took the blame for the murder as he was already a prime suspect and didn't want his son Isaac to grow up without a mother, according to the Mirror.
Despite confessing everything to the police, they dismissed her confession, accusing her of trying to shield Adam. She admitted she simply "snapped" during a confrontation with Emma, especially when Emma blamed her for the death of her daughter Holly Barton, who tragically died of a drug overdose in 2016.
The character of Emma was portrayed by Brookside legend Gillian Kearney, and with her character being mentioned on the show this week, fans must be wondering what the 52 year old actress has been doing recently.

After her stint on Emmerdale, Gillian Kearney transitioned from acting to directing, taking the helm for the drama series Clink in 2019 and an episode of the BBC series Moving On in 2020. However, she hasn't completely abandoned her acting roots; she recently appeared in the popular ITV drama Vera, playing Deborah McSwain alongside Shaun Dooley.
Emma Barton, the character she portrayed in Emmerdale, was the mother of Pete, Ross, and Finn Barton, and the estranged wife of James Barton. She was found by her son Finn in 2015, years after she had left her family behind.
Her character's storyline took a dark turn when she murdered her ex-husband James Barton. By the next year, her crime had caught up with her, leading to a breakdown.

Gillian is also recognised for her role as Debbie McGrath in Brookside and its spin-off mini-series Damon and Debbie. Her other notable roles include Jessica Harrison in Casualty, Silent Witness, Shameless and Suspects.
Off-screen, Gillian shares a son, John Gerard Foo, with her long-term partner Eddie Foo. The couple have been together since 2009.
On stage, she has frequently graced the boards at Liverpool's Everyman Theatre, appearing in productions such as Macbeth, Alice in Wonderland and Othello.
