The Chase's Bradley Walsh reacts to co-star 'handing in notice' after costing ITV

Bradley Walsh jokes Paul Sinha will hand in his notice

Bradley Walsh returned to ITV's The Chase for Thursday's edition where viewers witnessed an epic win. Viewers were left thrilled this week as two contestants managed to scoop an eye-watering £100,000 in the final chase against Paul Sinha.

The pair faced quiz genius, otherwise known as The Sinnerman, in an epic finale. The duo were the only two contestants out of the four who made it through to take on the quizmaster in the final round.

The tension reached its peak when potential defeat hung by a thread for Paul, who needed only one right answer to overtake Karen and Ian.

Bradley questioned him: "Lesley Manville played the widow Cathy in what BBC sitcom?" Paul's guess, Last of the Summer Wine, was a swing and a miss.

A wrong answer allowed Bradley to exclaim: "Stop the clock, that is wrong!" giving the challengers a flicker of hope. Unfortunately, they fumbled, misunderstanding sitcoms for soap operas.

Under increasing pressure, Paul's time ran out, allowing Karen and Ian to claim victory.

However, it didn't take long for Bradley to cheekily suggest that The Sinnerman may resign from his post after the quizzer exclaimed he had cost ITV £100,000.

Paul commented: "What can I say... congratulations to a brilliant team. You absolutely deserved every penny of that.

"I've cost ITV £100,000 but you don't have to care about a second of that. You played brilliantly and Karen you're a superstar. You are one of the best players we've ever had on the show."

Bradley said: "It's a fantastic show. It truly is unbelievable. Karen and Ian are going home with £100k, £50k each. So exciting.

"And the Chaser that's a funny way to hand in your notice."

The studio audience erupted into laughter, including Paul, who smirked at Bradley's quip.

The duo's victory marked one of the most substantial payouts in the show's history, with Ian and Karen each taking home £50,000.

Looking back, the largest win in 2023 saw three players split £120,000, earning them £40,000 each after outsmarting chaser Mark Labbett.
