Moment car crashes through living room as couple are about to enjoy dinner

A couple were about to sit down in their living room to have dinner alongside their dogs when they were met with a huge interruption.

Sabrina Rivera was fixing her couch and window blinds as her partner, Marcus Holmberg, walked in from the kitchen with a fork and said, ‘go’ to keep their three dogs from eating their food on the table first.

Suddenly, a huge blast sounded, the entire room filled with dust and debris, and the outline of a vehicle appeared.

CCTV footage captured the terrifying moment that a Ford Mustang crashed through a wall of their home in Phoenix, Arizona, around 10.30pm on Friday.

As the dust dissipated in the short clip, Holmberg could be seen moving, but Rivera and the three pups were not in sight. The car was in the middle of their home.

‘My lady and I were enjoying dinner on Friday night when a reckless driver, an 18-year-old with a 5.0 Mustang, drove through our house because he failed at doing donuts in the street,’ wrote Holmberg in a GoFundMe page titled, ‘My Family and furbabies need a home’.

The couple sustained minor injuries and cuts, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Their pets, including a fourth dog who was outside of the frame, also survived the incident.

‘No injuries were found but definitely a vet visit will be in play when we have funds to cover it,’ Rivera told Storyful.

An 18-year-old allegedly behind the wheel of the the Mustang was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, cops said.

The impact moved the foundation of the home and repairs could run up to $30,000, according to Holmberg.

‘We are just trying to survive. we’re asking for the bare minimum to get our home fixed,’ wrote Holmberg.

‘And my truck repaired. Insurance is going to fight us left and right. They may not pay for us to have a place to stay….So we’re reaching out to friends, family, and the community for help.’

The GoFundMe page had raised more than $8,500 as of Wednesday evening.
