BBC 'issues major update' on future of Freddie Flintoff's Field of Dreams
Freddie Flintoff's hugely popular show, Field of Dreams, was watched by almost 3.5 million viewers per night - and now the BBC has reportedly commissioned another series.
The reality show, featuring cricket legend turned Top Gear TV star Freddie, documented his efforts to set up a cricket team for disadvantaged teenagers in his home town of Preston. Keen to make cricket less of an "elitist" sport, he recruited nine boys from ordinary backgrounds, some of whom had never been travelling outside of Britain before, and took them to India in a bid to help them achieve stardom.
Now the Mirror reports that a second series has been confirmed, and that viewers will see the boys Freddie is working with teaming up with another group from Blackpool. However, the two teams are apparently already teasing each other about the new recruits being "posher" than them.
A source revealed: "Freddie’s last two series have been a huge success and he and the boys have loved making them. The BBC jumped at the show to do a third series.

It has already attracted a loyal audience of millions, who have tweeted their praise for Freddie - especially when he kept his promise to take the boys to India, despite battling horror injuries after a life-threatening crash while filming Top Gear.
However, the prospect of "parenting" the group of boys helped him back into everyday life.

There have been some challenges for the group during the show - including a boy who was so ambivalent about the dietary differences in India that all he felt he could eat was Pringles.
Others had attacks of conscience after spotting live chickens they'd have to pick out from a street market and cook themselves.
During a Q&A session, Freddie revealed: "If you'd have seen the first ever session we did with the lads, [they were] angry young teenagers [with] no interest in cricket. Then to see them in India, they were pretty much young adults."
There were some "nerve-wracking" moments and times when he had to call team members out on their "disrespect", but overall, it was a huge success and Freddie's glad he broke through his injuries.
The date for series three will be announced as soon as it is available.
