Thomas Tuchel is reportedly being eyed for the managerial role at Manchester United amidst doubts over Erik ten Hag's future. Following a 3-0 defeat to Liverpool, speculation has been rife about Ten Hag's future at Old Trafford, despite his contract extension until 2026 after an FA Cup victory.

If United decide to part ways with Ten Hag, they may turn to Tuchel, who they allegedly approached during their end-of-season review. Despite the poor start to the season, United chiefs Omar Berrada and Dan Ashworth have expressed their support for Ten Hag.

However, should a change be necessary, Tuchel is already aware of the immense responsibility that comes with managing a club of United's calibre.

Tuchel, the former Bayern Munich boss who is currently without a club, spoke out last year about the intense scrutiny at United, saying: "There is always a lot of noise around Manchester United. A lot of pundits in the UK are from Manchester United," before their Champions League clash with Bayern.

He reflected on the legacy left by Sir Alex Ferguson, noting, "You have a legacy from Sir Alex Ferguson which creates expectations around the club. All of us, me in Bayern and my colleague [Ten Hag] at Man United, want to achieve the same things."

Tuchel also commented on the magnified attention at United, stating, "It is pretty common at Man United that little things become a bit bigger or the talking is a bit noisier."

After his departure from Bayern in the summer, where Vincent Kompany succeeded him, Tuchel has been observing the football world, including Ten Hag's progress into his third season at United. Ten Hag is gearing up for the team's next challenge as they prepare to face Southampton away after the international break.
