Backstage Update on Plans for Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa Rematch

– As previously reported, Cody Rhodes is set to address Solo Sikoa later this week on WWE SmackDown. Dave Meltzer shared an update on what’s next for Cody and Sikoa on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio.

According to Meltzer, he was told by sources within WWE that a rematch between Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa is not scheduled for WWE Bad Blood in Cody’s hometown of Atlanta, Georiga. However, it appears they will have a rematch set up later on. Meltzer speculated that WWE might instead book their rematch on the September 13 edition of SmackDown, which will see the show move to USA Network from FOX.

This Friday’s SmackDown will likely set up Cody and Sikoa’s rematch. Rhodes previously defeated Sikoa during their title match at WWE SummerSlam last month. At last Saturday’s WWE Bash in Berlin, Rhodes beat Kevin Owens to retain his title.

The WWE SmackDown return to USA Network show will be held on Friday, September 13 at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington.
