Grand Seiko Unveils Its Fall Timepieces for 2024

In welcoming fall, Grand Seiko has revealed its newest lineup of time-telling novelties. The unveiling sees four new watch references, spanning a Spring Drive, a Hi-Beat 3600 and two 45GS Re-Creation limited editions.

Spring Drive 5 Days SLGA025 “Atera Bue”

Retailing for $10,500 USD, the SLGA025 is the latest addition to Grand Seiko’s Evolution 9 Collection. Drawing inspiration from the Atera River in a valley in Nagano prefecture - where Spring Dive timepieces are made - the SLGA025 spotlights an emerald-blue textured dial that evokes the clear, flowing waters of Atera Valley. Arriving in a 40mm case size, the reference boasts a high-intensity titanium build with a matching metal bracelet. Geared with an impressive 120-hour power reserve, the watch’s beating heart is the  Spring Drive 5 Days 9RA2 caliber.

Hi-Beat 36000 SBGH347 “Icefall”

Joining the Grand Seiko Heritage Collection, the SBGH347 showcases a new dial pattern evoking the scenery of Mount Iwate’s frozen Nantaki waterfall during the winter. Dubbed “Icefall,” the new pattern captures the dynamism of frozen motion, while its bluish-white color adds to its icy atmosphere. Equipped with 55 hours of continuous running time, the reference is powered by the Hi-Beat 9S85 caliber, beating at an astounding rate of 36,000 hourly vibrations. Featuring a price tag of $6,900 USD, the watch is encased in stainless steel, topped with Grand Seiko’s ever brilliant finish and features a matching steel bracelet.

Re-creation of the 45GS Limited Editions: SLGW004, SLGW005

Set to release in November, these two limited-edition 445GS re-creations are announced to pay homage to the two original variants that were introduced back in 1968. While the new watch’s appearance faithfully reiterates the originals’ vintage elegance, technical upgrades are implemented to meet the needs of modern users. Both watches are powered by the manual-winding 9SA4 caliber, a high-frequency movement offering 80 hours of power reserve.

Limited to 200 examples, the SLGW004 features an 18k yellow-gold case with a cream-colored dial and a price tag of $30,000 USD. As for the SLGW005, it comes in another classic pairing of stainless steel with an off-white dial. Priced at $9,700 USD, this colorway is limited to 1,300 pieces.
