Konstantin Chaykin's ThinKing Prototype Might Be the Next Thinnest Mechanical Wristwatch in the World

Independent Russian watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin has shared a new Wristmons prototype at Geneva Watch Days. Dubbed ThinKing, the timepiece is Konstantin Chaykin’s attempt to challenge what could be the thinnest mechanical wristwatch in the world.

The ThinKing boasts a thickness of only 1.65mm, an even thinner profile than Bulgari’s record-breaking Octo Finissimo Ultra which was unveiled earlier in spring, and measured 1.7mm in thickness.

In terms of design, this prototype displays a minimalist and near-industrialist approach that reinterprets Konstantin Chaykin’s signature Wristmons model. The dial borrows essences from the collection’s Joker series, where one eye reads the hour, while the other indicates minutes.

Over on the back, the reference showcases the built-in K.23-0 movement. Geared with 32 hours of power reserve, the movement can only be wound with a key. The jewels and barrels exude an appearance that amalgamates both two and three-dimensional elements. A handwriting-like inscription above this reads, “Prototype of the world’s thinnest watch by K. Chaykin — 30.08.2024.”

Konstantin Chaykin’s ThinKing is currently still in pre-production. At the time of writing, no further details regarding its price or estimated release timeframe have been confirmed. To read more about the prototype, visit the brand's official website.
