What to watch on Sky in September from The Penguin to Michelle Keegan drama

Watch The Trailer For One Life

Sky has a wide range of unmissable streaming options this September, from must-watch comic book spin-offs to classic family favourites.

As the nights start to draw in, streamers will be hunkering down in front of the telly much more over the coming weeks, and we want to make sure they’re tuning in to the best of the best.

Following an incredible summer of TV from Sky - including the second season of House of the Dragon and the return of Daryl Dixon in his own Walking Dead spin-off - this autumn is even more packed with quality dramas.

Whether you prefer light-hearted comedies, eye-opening historical stories, or edge-of-your-seat thrillers, there’s something for everyone coming up in the next few weeks.

Here’s everything to look out for in September.

Colin Farrell returns as the Penguin in the new Batman spin-off (Image: HBO) The Penguin

Colin Farrell’s memorable iteration of the iconic DC Comics villain returns after his stand-out debut in Matt Reeves’ 2022 superhero blockbuster starring Robert Pattinson, The Batman.

Set a week after the events of the film, the eight-part drama follows the former right-hand man of Carmine Falcone (John Turturro) as he rises up the ranks to become Gotham City’s principal crime lord.

He soon faces off against Carmine’s daughter Sofia Falcone (Cristin Milioti), a psychotic killer released from Arkham Asylum.

Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo and Clancy Brown fill out the supporting cast, with rumours that Robert’s Dark Knight will also make a cameo appearance.

The Penguin is premiering September 19 on HBO and will be coming to Sky Atlantic and NOW shortly afterwards.

Michelle Keegan and the gang are back for a sixth season of Brassic (Image: SKY) Brassic

Michelle Keegan and an ensemble cast are returning for the highly anticipated sixth season of Brassic this September.

Following an explosive end to the fifth installment last December, there are more madcap adventures with Vinnie and the gang to look forward to.

Sky promises this coming season features “man-eating crocodiles, bigamists and a naked cult”.

However, there will also be some rather emotional surprises, including new love interests and a shock exit.

An exact release date hasn’t been announced, but Brassic season six will be streaming on Sky Max and NOW in September.

Kate Winslet stars in a must-watch new biopic (Image: SKY CINEMA) Lee

Hollywood actress Kate Winslet stars in the gripping original historical drama Lee, based on the inspiring true story of American war photographer Lee Miller.

The real-life figure fought against insurmountable odds to capture photos of World War II to bring the truth of the brutal Nazi regime to the public.

Unfortunately, she paid dearly for capturing some of the most important photos of the war.

Joining Kate in the all-star cast are Andy Samberg, Alexander Skarsgård, Marion Cottilard, Josh O’Connor and Andrea Riseborough.

It’s coming to cinemas first on September 13 but will become available on Sky Cinema and NOW shortly afterward.

Anthony Hopkins shines in the biographical film One Life (Image: BBC/WARNER BROS) Movies

Three more movies are also coming to streamers later this month, and they’re not to be missed.

Jason Momoa returns as the superpowered mariner Aquaman in the jaw-dropping sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, available from September 13.

Anthony Hopkins shines as real-life humanitarian Nicholas Winton in the heartfelt biographical drama One Life, coming September 27.

And classics fans can look forward to the second part of a brand new adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’ iconic novel, The Three Musketeers: Milady, from September 6.
