Bargain-Loving Brits in the Sun: Couple make Yorkshire puddings

Channel 5 hit series Bargain-Loving Britains in the Sun saw some cooking tips shared with viewers as cafe owners Sue and Dave were seen hard at work.

The pair were preparing their menu for the day, as they admitted they were hoping for 20 covers in order to make a profit.

Sue and Dave shared their secret weapon for bringing in the punters, with Sue making fresh Yorkshire puddings and Dave making his own scotch eggs.

Giving a demonstration, Dave showed off some eggs he'd already boiled and put in the fridge as he deshelled them on camera.

He then made his own sausage meat covering as he placed it around the egg, telling viewers at home: "Make sure the egg is completely covered for when its cooking".

Dave then covered it in breadcrumbs placed the egg and meat into a deepfryer before showing off the final results, with several impressive scotch eggs being placed on a plate, with voiceover star John Thomson saying he'd like to try.

The pair were hoping that they will make enough money to put towards renovating their home in the Spanish countryside, which has been their main project since they moved on.

Sue and Dave spent the day hoping their tasty Yorkshire puddings and scotch eggs would bring the punters in, with the show returning to them later in the day.

Counting up their bookings, Sue said: "We started with 11, we've got 16. If we get four more, we'll get to 20, and that will be a good day I think."

The cafe quickly started to fill up, as Dave said: "Everyone seems to come at the same time. It's very rare that it is constant. You get one order and then all of a sudden you get five at once."

Joking about his workload as he filled up a pint, Dave said: "I've had enough, a pint isn't enough."

How many roasts have we got? We've got four left, it's going to have to be chicken.

Sue then called out: "How many roasts have we got? We've got four left, it's going to have to be chicken," as Dave agreed, with the camera then panning to him looking stressed in the kitchen.
