BBC Breakfast viewers fume 'why am I paying for this' as Oasis report sparks outrage

BBC Breakfast: Naga on Oasis tickets going on sale BBC Breakfast fans made their feelings known about the amount of coverage Saturday's (August 31) edition dedicated to the Oasis reunion tour ticket sales.Presenters Naga Muchetty and Charlie Stayt first began discussing it at the opening of the show and there were hourly reports on it featuring pre-recorded films from reporters andlive reporting from Bolton where fans were trying to buy tickets.One viewer fumed: "Obviously it’s a quiet news day, we’re getting nothing but hype about some Oasis concerts that don’t happen for another 12 months or so… Has it not crossed your mind that 99% of your viewers couldn’t care less about Oasis?Why are these #Oasis tosspots getting so much free publicity? #bbcbreakfast This isn’t news. It isn’t even a public interest story.Why tf is BBC Breakfast turning the Oasis ticket sales into a major news item, with a reporter on set with her mobile trying to buy her tickets? And treating the wholesale gouging over pre-sales as a side issue? TV on 2 mins and already talking about Oasis."@RoyLlowarch pointed out the show was in danger of becoming too colloquial commenting on X: "@BBCBreakfast @TVNaga01I'm a lover & big fan of BBC Breakfast but sometimes you need to remember your a national news station because at times you sound like a local Manchester news outlet! Would Oasis get all this coverage if you were still based in London? #BBCBreakfast."@MrsHaworthFox2 raged: "I think Oasis would sell out without all the free advertising from #BBCBreakfast How about a what's on guide for events that actually benefit from high profile exposure? So many times I hear "I would have gone to that if I'd known about it.". You could help so many more."Another chimed in: "BBCBreakfast are still giving free publicity to these Oasis tosspots. I’m still failing to see why my licence fee is being squandered on this utter c**p reporting."

I’m still failing to see why my licence fee is being squandered on this utter crap reporting."Meanwhile @OfSelina quipped: "#BBCBreakfast are spending way too long on discussing people getting (or not) tickets for Oasis Didn’t do this for the S Club 7 reunion."During the progamme die hard Oasis fans Jenny and Stuart told the show they would have "laptop out, computer out, phones...everything," in an attempt to score tickets for the reunion shows next year.

Jenny is so committed to the group she even have has a tattoo in tribute to them. Asked what it felt like when they heard the news of the reunion Stuart revealed: "I just heard a loud squeal from the lounge and realised she was looking at the Instagram post."

They also broadcast live from a bar in Bolton where locals were up early to try and secure their tickets to the Oasis reunion gigs with many trying to get tickets for the Dublin show.

One couple admitted they were lucky enough to secure tickets in the pre-sale last night but they were hoping to get tickets for Ireland also.

However with both of them at over number 300,000 in the queue at the time of broadcat it appeared they would be unsuccessful.
