Naga Munchetty's three-word reaction as BBC Breakfast interrupted by huge Oasis blunder

BBC Breakfast: Naga on Oasis tickets going on sale

Naga Munchetty burst into laughter on this morning’s BBC Breakfast as a technical gaffe interrupted a warning from the hit band Oasis.

Noel and Liam Gallagher have announced they would be reuniting for a UK tour next year, and tickets officially went on sale today (August 31).

However, they’ve issued a warning to their more opportunistic customers, who have listed pre-sale tickets for sale online for thousands of pounds.

Unfortunately, Naga couldn’t quite capture the seriousness of the situation as the BBC used a zoomed-in shot of the brothers’ legs to illustrate the story.

“You’ll see more,” she promised viewers, completely failing to stifle her laughter. “Later on. That was just their lower halves!”

On Friday evening, the band said on social media: “We have noticed people attempting to sell tickets on the secondary market since the start of the pre-sale.

“Please note, tickets can ONLY be resold, at face value, via @Ticketmaster and @Twickets."

Tickets sold in breach of these terms and conditions will be cancelled by the promoters.

Some tickets acquired in the pre-sale ballot are being resold for more than £6,000.

Before the BBC’s visuals distracted Naga from the story, she and her co-host Charlie Stayt revealed concerns about people profiteering from the highly anticipated reunion.

“So, today’s the general sale,” she explained. “If you haven’t signed up before on the website, haven’t signed up for pre-sale tickets, today’s the day that you can buy them.

“But, the presale tickets that have kind of been snapped up, they’re causing a bit of a problem.”

The show then cut to a shot of Naga against a BBC backdrop, which then faded into a rather unhelpful shot of the Oasis brothers’ legs clad in jeans and their hands in their pockets.

Naga went on: “Oasis now has issued a warning against reselling tickets to their comeback tour after some were listed for thousands of pounds within minutes of a pre-sale.”

She turned to the graphic and looked rather unimpressed before letting out a giggle.

“A limited number of fans were able to buy the first batch of tickets during a three-hour window last night,” she said with a huge smile.

“So what the group’s done is urge people not to re-sale these tickets at high prices and said that the tickets would be cancelled.”

The BBC presenter finally added that official tickets will be on sale from 9am this morning.

BBC Breakfast airs from 6am on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
