Beat the Chasers host Bradley Walsh was left blushing after top quizzer Paul Sinha made a cheeky dig at the star on the latest episode of the ITV game show.

The popular show once again welcomed a series of hopeful contestants all vying to win a bucket load of cash by taking on some of Britain’s most popular brainiacs.

Bradley welcomed Paul, a journalist from County Tyrone, to the studio who revealed he was passionate about movies. The host couldn’t help but offer up his opinion, stating that he is not a fan of the Avengers movies because he feels like “CGI has ruined the art of old-school acting and film making”.

It didn’t take long for Paul Sinha, aka “The Sinnerman”, to chime in, blasting: “You’ve starred in Dr Who but you don’t like special effects?”

function loadOvpScript(){let el=document.createElement('script');el.setAttribute('src','https://live.primis.tech/live/liveView.php?s=114945&playerApiId=v114945');document.getElementById('ovp-primis').appendChild(el)} window.top.addEventListener('primisPlayerInit',e=>{try{if(e.detail&&e.detail.playerApiId==="v114945"){if(window.document.getElementsByClassName('jwplayer')[0]){e.detail.float('disable')}}}catch(e){}});window.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded',()=>{setTimeout(()=>{if(typeof flagTcfLoaded!=='undefined'&&flagTcfLoaded===!0){loadOvpScript() ExpressApp.Log('[Load] OVP flagTcfLoaded',new Date())}else{document.addEventListener("tcfLoaded",()=>{loadOvpScript() ExpressApp.Log('[Load] OVP tcfLoaded',new Date())})}},1500)})

The studio erupted into laughter as Bradley pulled a face at his co-star while his fellow chasers joined in on the laughter.

“Have that Brad, you’ve been mugged right off,” one fan said on X.

The Chase is celebrating 15 years on our TVs this week, with host Bradley Walsh revealing how competitive the Chasers really are.

The show started with two Chasers originally, Shaun Wallace (The Dark Destroyer) and Mark Labbett (The Beast). They were later joined by Anne Hegerty (The Governess), Paul Sinha (The Sinnerman), Jenny Ryan (The Vixen) and Darragh Ennis (The Menace).

And now it’s all about who’s the best Chaser. “Mark has a stats list on how they have all played,” says 64-year-old Bradley.

“How many times they win and how many times they lose, how fast they answer questions in the final chase and who has beaten the highest score from the contestants.

“It’s a league table and all of them want to be at the top of it. They all want to be the best!”

When so many quiz shows crash and burn on TV, the longevity of ITV’s The Chase is impressive. It pulls in an audience of around three million a day and is one of the ITV's most successful daytime shows ever.

It has won three National Television Awards, plus two for its spin-off show Beat The Chasers, plus the Best Daytime TV BAFTA.

“It’s unbelievable, really,” Bradley says.

“It’s such a privilege and none of us – myself or The Chasers – take it for granted. Let’s face it, 15 years is a long time, and we’ve recorded thousands of episodes, so it just feels incredible.”
