Alex Beresford's weather report leaves GMB viewers all making same complaint

GMB: Alex Beresford predicts warm and sunny weekend for most of UK Good Morning Britain viewers were left unamused when they saw Alex Beresford was covering the weather on Friday's (August 30) edition of the ITV breakfast show. They took to X to complain about his diction and ask him to "slow down" as he spoke.@GrandadPhil12 mused: "I forecast mumbling and stumbling over easy words. Why not get Ruth in. She is clear with good diction. When I see Alex, I instantly turn over to @BBCBreakfast"@paulv71314296 pleaded: "Could he please talk a bit slower, thanks." @JackieMew4 simply wasn't a fan commenting: "Get Beresford off! If he’s not on the morning one he’s on the evening one!!"Meanwhile @Dave_Harg was missing the regular presenter asking: "When is @Lauratobin1 coming back??"The backash came as Alex marked 20 years working for ITV and presenters Adil Ray and Kate Garraway couldn't resist drawing attention to it on air. As a mortified Alex looked on they showed one of his first ever clips presenting the weather for the channel.

Reflecting on the clip a visibly astonished Alex couldn't help but comment on his outfit.

"Let me tell you, my wardrobe was absolutely terrible when I first started here. I didn't have a clue what I was doing.

"In fact it was the very editor of this programme [GMB] that pulled me aside one day when I was about to start presenting the national weather and he said: 'Alex we need to talk about your suits'.

"Luckily he had a little word in my ear and I've never looked back and I look quite smart so thank you very much Neil."

Alex has been just one of the weather presenters covering for regular show meteorologist Laura Tobin as she enjoys an end of summer break.

On the August 20 edition of the show she announced she was heading on holidays for 10 days.

Presenting the weather she gloated she would miss the rain while she jetted off abroad.

She explained: "I'm going to a warm place. For the next 10 days, it's going to rain here, sorry about that. Isn't it crazy, it's almost like I knew!"

Good Morning Britain is on ITV weekdays at 6am.
