GB News viewers erupted with fury as they shared Nigel Farage's anger about being attacked while campaigning.

"If we get to a point where people can’t go out and campaign for what they believe in, and yes, be held to account by a crowd in the street, we’ve got a real problem," the Reform leader exclaimed. Nigel spoke out after learning that a man who'd thrown a "coffee cup full of cement" at a bus he was on had been given a suspended sentence and fined just £85.

The politician, who received an outpouring of support online, recounted the story. "So there I was innocently going about my business in Barnsley early in the general election," he began, before revealing he could see an "unkempt" man lunge at the bus he was on.

"Don't believe the news when they say they threw paper cups at me - you can throw as many paper cups at me as you want, and anyway they wouldn't go across the street," he exclaimed. "That story is utter rot."

Nigel continued: "What he did was filled up a big coffee cup with cement and chucked it at the bus. This guy did this with intent and intent to harm.

"I can take the rough and tumble of politics and I don't mind it one little bit, but when it threatens me physically, or threatens people around me physically, then I think something has to happen."

Nigel recalled that it was the second attack he'd had in three days, after a milkshake was thrown into his face earlier that week - but that the justice system hadn't taken sufficient action.

"I'm sorry, but I think there needs to be some sort of disincentive!" he declared.

"Why is so much of the country struggling to see this?" one viewer took to Twitter to ask.

"Totally uncalled for," agreed a second, while a third chimed in: "Spot on, Nigel!"

The comments also sparked a wider debate about "two-tier policing".

"Starmer has the nerve to stand there and deny two tier policing and two tier justice. But we see it. We see it. So, the question is, what's his plan for when the public have had enough? Listen? Or clamp down hard?" one viewer quizzed.
