The Chase star Mark Labbett sparks concern from viewers after show 'first'

The Chase: Mark Labbett loses in final round as contestants snag £25K

The Chase viewers expressed their concern for Mark Labbett after a show 'first' left them asking "is he ok? ".

The popular ITV quiz show made its comeback on our screens Wednesday evening (August 28), with host Bradley Walsh, 64, welcoming four fresh contestants ready to challenge Mark, 59, who is also known as The Beast.

Sean from Bury, John from Beverley, Caroline from Bristol, and Jen from High Wycombe joined forces, aiming to win a substantial cash prize.

Together, they tackled a series of general knowledge questions against the clock, striving to reach the game board's exit without being caught by The Beast.

But it was a particular exchange that caught the attention of viewers at home. As Caroline faced off with The Beast, he remarked: "So you like baking and feeding people.", reports the Mirror.

leading to an eruption of laughter as Bradley interjected, "Put some money on the table, what is the high offer? ". Mark then surprised everyone with a generous high offer of £55,000, saying: "A reward for being a baker, £55,000."

Caroline considered taking The Beast's tempting offer but ultimately chose to go for the safer bet of £7,000 after consulting with her teammates.

The 47 year old contestant was breezing through the round, answering her questions correctly. However, Chaser Mark appeared to be having a tough time, as Bradley revealed that he ran out of time before he could answer one question.

Bradley posed the question: "Which Tory MP made more than £14M from the sale of the education business he co-founded in 1996? A, Jeremy Hunt, B, Jacob Rees Mogg or C, Rishi Sunak."

Before revealing the answer, Bradley announced: "So the chaser is out of time. Let's see what you put through Caroline. It was then revealed that Caroline chose the correct answer, which was B."

It was then disclosed that Caroline had chosen the correct answer, which was B.

Viewers quickly took to social media to share their reactions. One remarked: "Somethings wrong with Mark today. #TheChase."

Another queried: "Is Mark ok? He seems out of it. #thechase."

Another viewer posted: "The chaser got timed out? That's a First! #TheChase."

Meanwhile, one pointed out: "@DFTPNK02 That's the first time I've seen the chaser out of time #thechase."
