Hot Wheels and MSCHF Team Up for "Not Wheels" Car

In an unexpected collaboration, Mattel Creations' Hot Wheels and creative studio MSCHF have unveiled the "Not Wheels" vehicle, a nostalgic nod to the well-worn, beat-up cars many drivers start their journeys with. This latest creation is anything but ordinary, capturing the charm of a heavily used car from the early 1990s Japanese import scene.

The "Not Wheels" car stands out with its three mismatched wheels — two Real Riders classic tires, a yellow spare and a rusted hub —ensuring it doesn't roll. The vehicle's character is further defined by dents, rust and amateur repairs, along with quirky details like a cracked windshield, a dirty rear window with "WASH ME" written across it, and a seat belt hanging out of the door.

Other cheeky features include text on the back of the packaging like a no warranty clause and a warning label that reads "not suitable for individuals with country club memberships. Disgusted looks will be given." The packaging is also labeled with a "HW Normal Cars" trademark, leading us to believe this could become an ongoing series.

As for the MSCHF Not Wheels car, it is set to launch on August 30, for $30 USD via Mattel Creations' official site.
