ITV This Morning star pleads 'come back' as co-host abandons set after announcing 'bye'

Craig Doyle jokingly walks off set

Tuesday's episode of This Morning saw a moment of mayhem as Craig Doyle humorously bid "bye" to his co-host Sian Welby. The pair had just finished chatting with Christine Lampard and Coleen Nolan regarding the Loose Women lineup, when Craig spontaneously chose to leave Sian on her own, prompting her to exclaim: "Come back."

Discussing Coleen's stylish choice of accessory, Sian pondered, "How is Coleen pulling off that hat so well? " to which she quipped, "I am very versatile."

With Coleen's cue to exit, Craig playfully suggested: "And down she goes, down she goes," while Sian added in jest: "Back in the bag."

As they referred to the Mary Poppins skit by Coleen and Christine, Craig remarked: "The weird thing about supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, it is easier to sing than say."

"Well," prompted Sian. "Take it away," reports the Mirror.

Seizing the moment, Craig burst into the classic song and became so immersed in his performance that he scampered off-screen, leaving Sian to manage solo.

Off-camera, Craig's parting, "Bye," was heard before Sian had to continue: "This is an audition for the West End."

Craig's voice came again, faintly apologising, as his co-host pleaded for his return with, "Come on, come on, come back, come back!"

During the beauty segment, the chaos escalated as Craig began massaging a mixture of honey and avocado into his locks, leaving viewers perplexed.

Audience members took to social media platforms to express their bewilderment, with one saying: "Poor Craig still got 20 mins to go #thismorning."

Others were equally flummoxed, with tweets like: "Why did Craig put all that gunk in his hair? #ThisMorning," and another viewer openly questioning: "Is Craig OK? ".

One viewer remarked: "Craig slicking his hair back. Proper 70s hairdo Debbie Does Dallas."

Another added: "Craig looks like he's just stepped out of the 1950s."

In another segment, Craig and Sian introduced a fresh face to the This Morning team - Deborah Arthurs.

At the top of the show, Deborah and Camilla were present for the 'This Morning View' discussion, offering their insights on the day's hot topics.

After discussing the potential Oasis reunion with Chris Moyles, Craig declared: "We are going to go through more of today's headlines, that's a really big one and a positive one," and extended a warm welcome to the panelists: "Camilla Tominey and Metro's editor in chief, Deborah Arthurs, who is making her debut on This Morning."

Deborah thanked them, saying, "Thank you very much," and Craig warmly replied: "You're very, very welcome, good to have you with us."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
