Chief Executive John Lee on Saturday said the government will continue its work on raising living standards. In a social media video message, Lee said consultation meetings will be held with different parties about his upcoming Policy Address, and he will also be going out into the community to hear suggestions from the public. "The current-term government is committed to enhancing people's livelihoods. We implement in detail and make Hong Kong a better place for living and working," he said. "We work hard in aspects of medical care, child care, transportation and housing, making Hong Kong a better place." The video also featured people from the transport sector, low income groups, and the elderly. Albert Leung from Citybus said after changing the tolls for Hong Kong's three harbour tunnels, traffic congestion at the Cross-Harbour Tunnel had been improved and it had also enhanced the competitiveness of buses. A family living in a subdivided flat said they regularly visited the community living room, and there were teachers helping with homework. An elderly woman living in Zhongshan on the mainland said the elderly health care voucher scheme had been expanded to cover more medical institutions in the Greater Bay Area, and this was more convenient for her. Lee will deliver his third Policy Address in October.
