Man Utd star Amad mourns tragic death of his mum with emotional statement
Amad has announced the tragic passing of his mother on the eve of Manchester United's Premier League clash against Brighton and Hove Albion. The 22-year-old winger took to social media on Friday night to reveal the heartbreaking news, and he has received a wave of love and support from all corners of the fanbase.
Amad is primed to enjoy a breakout campaign for United - three years since his £37million arrival from Atalanta - after playing a prominent role throughout pre-season.
He has started in both opening games against Manchester City in the Community Shield at Wembley and Fulham in last week's Premier League curtain-raiser at Old Trafford.

Amad has made no secret of the bond the pair shared during his time at United, previously claiming that she was in tears over the phone after he was handed his debut in 2021.
"It was all so hard to believe. After I made my United debut against Real Sociedad, I called my mum after the game and she was in tears, saying that she couldn't believe it," Amad told the club website.
