Kelly Holmes reveals she exposed her mum's affair

On Loose Women, Dame Kelly Holmes dropped a bombshell that left her colleagues gasping as she revealed she was the one who uncovered her mother's affair.

The panel, consisting of Kelly alongside Kaye Adams, Myleene Klass and Frankie Bridge, discussed their thoughts on a plethora of subjects in Friday's segment. The conversation initially centred on Martine McCutcheon, as the quartet expressed empathy over the actress's candid revelation of the dissolution of her marriage to Jack McManus after an 18-year-long relationship.

In a sequence of confessions mirroring Martine's vulnerability, the stars delved into their personal experiences of love gone awry. Dame Kelly took this opportunity to divulge a deeply personal memory, leaving her fellow panellists shocked.

Dame Kelly recounted: "When I was 16, I found out that my mum was having an affair and I was the one that told my, who I called my dad, about it. I know! And he was heartbroken, literally heartbroken. But my mum was only very young at the time, 33, she had me when she as 17. So now I'm older I see that she just wasn't happy in the relationship but I wished she had told him that she wasn't happy."

The 54 year old shared his personal family experience, explaining: "Because for me and my two brothers, it really destroyed everything we thought was our family unit and mine probably. That security of having my dad wondering if I was going to lose my mum and my dad if they ever split up. So I think it depends how you do it sometimes."

Myleene Klass chimed in, advocating for couples to strive for a "dignified" end to their relationship. Kelly echoed this sentiment, revealing that her family's past upheaval has left a lasting impact on her, reports the Mirror.

This revelation aligns with Martine McCutcheon's recent announcement of her separation shared with her followers online. In parts of her statement, she said: "After much thought and consideration, Jack has decided it's best for us to separate after 18 years together and I accept his decision."

She continued with a nod to their shared responsibilities as parents: "We are both so very blessed and grateful for our beautiful, nine-year-old son Rafferty, who's happiness and welfare has always been, and will continue to be, our number one priority. We both of course, still cherish and look forward to being parents together to our wonderful boy for the rest of our lives."
