This Morning scare as host caught off-guard in sudden 'fire alarm' blast

TM: Joel Dommett gets startled by 'fire alarm' sound

This Morning's Joel Dommett turned scarlet during Friday's show with Rochelle Humes. In the midst of explaining details about ITV's latest competition, an alarm blasted through the studio unexpectedly.

The clamour was actually a final call for viewers to participate in the contest, but a surprised Joel admitted to Rochelle: "I've never had the noise before so I genuinely thought it was a fire alarm."

Joel's blunder sent Rochelle into fits of laughter, with a sheepish Joel dramatically clutching at his heart.

He continued light-heartedly: "Someone needs to warn me about these things! The noise tells us that we're coming to the end of our £90,000 giveaway."

A laughing Rochelle clarified there was no actual fire, to which he gratefully responded: "Thank God!", reports the Mirror.

Meanwhile, the duo struggled to keep composure on-air as Joel's risque joke took centre stage.

Chatting about back-to-school gear, Joel mused wistfully it made him hope for a daughter, directly addressing his wife with a playful "Hannah I'm coming home!"

Rochelle laughed and quickly suggested his wife make herself scarce, only for them to realize their chat was spiralling into inappropriateness, leaving them both caught in uncontainable laughter.

A mortified Joel apologised, whilst Rochelle teased him for momentarily forgetting they were on live TV.

This Morning has been graced with a variety of guest hosts as regulars Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard take their summer holidays.

Viewers have been treated to the likes of Rochelle Humes, Joel Dommett, Josie Gibson, Dermot O'Leary, Rylan Clark, and Alison Hammond taking turns at the helm.

While the show typically sees Ben and Cat from Monday to Thursday and Dermot and Alison on Fridays, fans have expressed their delight at the ever-changing roster.

One enthusiastic viewer took to Twitter, saying: "Good to see Joel Dommett on #ThisMorning I wish he was the main permanent presenter."

Another chimed in: "Keep Rylan and Josie on the program's best two presenters on the show."

Echoing the sentiment, another tweet read: "Can we keep Rylan as a regular presenter on #ThisMorning please??"

And yet another fan suggested: "I can we just have Craig and Josie, Allison and Dermot to host #thismorning permanently."

This Morning continues weekdays on ITV from 6am.
