Louis Erard and The Horophile Return With New La Petite Seconde Metropolis Timepiece

Independant watch brand Louis Erard is reuniting with The Horophile to unveil another Art-Deco-inspired timepiece. Last summer, the two joined forces on a trio of La Petite Seconde Metropolis limited editions, each sporting a different dial color. Adding to that lineup of vintage-coded wristwatches, the two parties are back with a new iteration of the La Petite Seconde Metropolis in a charming verdant green.

Remaining faithful to the preceding models’ aesthetic and proportions, this new variant comes in a 39mm-sized, polished stainless steel case. Rendered in circular satin-finish, the brilliantly luscious green dial is brought to life with a visually arresting gadrooned center, while a smooth small seconds display offers breaks up the textural intensity.

The Arabic numerals are applied as silver transfers, which maintains the watch’s simple and sophisticated color scheme. The skeletonized stepped baton hour and minute hands are another highlighted feature of this timepiece. The shape of the hands draws inspiration from the silhouette of the Empire State Building, adding a subtle reference to the vintage glamor of New York during the Art Deco movement.

The watch is powered by an automatic-winding Sellita SW261- 1 caliber that provides around 38 hours of continuous running time. Visible through the open caseback, the movement is decorated with a micro-rotor featuring Louis Erard’s logo.

Retailing for 2,300 CHF (around $2,703 USD), the Louis Erard x The Horophile La Petite Seconde Metropolis is available for order via Louis Erard’s official website.
