Nintendo Ending Support For Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, Will Release Offline-Only Version

Almost seven years after it launched, Nintendo's free-to-play mobile spin-off Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is shutting down. While the current version of the game will be taken down on November 29th, 2024, players will be able to continue their progress in an offline version of the game requiring a one-off purchase.

Nintendo made the announcement today, giving players just over three months to wrap up their affairs in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. "We would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported the title since service began," Nintendo's message to players reads. Despite the game nearing the end of its lifespan, the announcement added that it will continue to hold events and add items until the end of service.

Unlike other live-service games that have been taken offline in recent years, Nintendo is giving players the option to transfer their save data to an offline-only version of the app--though the new version will require a one-off purchase.
