Love is Blind UK: Which couples got married and who was dumped at the altar?

Catherine and Freddie - Didn't get married

From their very first date, they looked like a perfect match. The pair connected over their twice-a-day workouts, deep love of family, and some other mind-blowing similarities. “My middle name’s Mary … after my gran,” Catherine says in Episode 1, to which a shocked Freddie replies, “My nana was called Mary!”

While Catherine also develops a strong attraction to Ollie in the pods, she chooses to get engaged to Freddie because he makes her “feel like family.”

Their romance only blossomed when they met in person and shared their first kiss through tears of happiness. During the retreat, Catherine claims she was the one who ended things with Ollie, while he remembers it differently.

Once all the couples reunite, the pod exes clear the air about the circumstances of their splits, creating “weird tension” with Ollie’s fiancée, Demi. But in the end, another ex in Freddie’s past causes the most drama for Catherine, as he admits to cheating in a previous relationship.

The reveal shakes the couple to their core before they head back home and meet each other’s families.

Things took another turn when Freddie suggested a prenup. On their wedding day, Freddie’s sister doubts the couple is on the same page. Catherine says “I do,” but Freddie walks away.

He tries to smooth things over, but it’s unclear if Catherine will get over this rejection.

Emma and Matt Willis chat Love Is Blind UK

The final episodes of the first season of Love Is Blind: UK have landed on Netflix. The UK version of the hit Netflix series has seen a new group of singles enter the experiment that tests whether true love can blossom sight unseen between strangers.

Hosted by Emma and Matt Willis, the first nine episodes on Netflix saw the couples go through the iconic pod stage where singles meet and date without ever seeing each other. They become engaged and get the chance to meet each other for the first time.

Six different couples became engaged, with five setting off on their 'honeymoon' in Greece. The final two episodes have been released on Netflix on Wednesday, August 21.

But which couples officially made it and are still together?

Tom and Maria - Didn't get married

Tom was torn between his feelings for Maria and Natasha and instead chose Maria. “I genuinely feel like I’m most myself with you,” Tom tells Maria. When Maria lets her walls down, the two get engaged.

“Tom, I have never pictured my life with someone until I met you,” she confesses. “I have never felt like this with anyone. You are absolutely amazing. I have never felt so sure about anyone.”

During the reveal, Maria makes an impact with her red dress and lipstick, which unfortunately for Tom isn’t kiss-proof. On the retreat, the couple are a natural fit.

But when the pair return to London, some cracks begin to show, given Tom’s “judgmental” attitude toward Maria’s career and her traditional values having been in a religious Moroccan community.

Maria was ready to get married, but Tom still had reservations about their conflicting values and walked away from the altar.

Sabrina and Steven - Married

Sabrina and Steven were the first couple to get engaged in the pods. The two hopeless romantics develop a sweet and laid-back relationship after their very first date.

“Your [love] language is so similar to mine,” Steven tells Sabrina as they bond over their approaches to life and shared daily routines, which include meditation and gratitude journaling.

Despite some challenges, the pair look set for each other. They are able to navigate more challenging topics, including Sabrina’s ambivalence toward having children.

“I feel like our hearts and our minds are so aligned, and I can see us having this incredible life together,” she says after they compromise about what their future family might look like.

They also overcome an early hurdle, as Sabrina hails from Belfast, while Steven calls London home. She readily agrees that they’ll start their lives together in the latter, where she can begin a new chapter personally and professionally.

It is clear from the series that the pair are one of the strongest and most stable couples of the group.

Back in London, Steven and Sabrina kept things calm and steady right up to the wedding day, when they both say “I do.”

Nicole and Benaiah - Married

Nicole, Benaiah, and Sam are a massive source of drama this season. Wooed by smooth-talking Sam’s open desire for romance, divorcée Nicole is intrigued by his vulnerability but hesitant about him “saying all the right things.”

Nicole develops a strong spiritual connection with Benaiah, but when Nicole wants reassurance that their courtship will turn into a proposal, Benaiah misses his moment. “I feel like I’m pulling teeth when there’s a conversation about the future,” Nicole says.

“With Sam, he’s really committed to us.” Despite warnings about Sam from Benaiah and others, Nicole ends things with Benaiah and accepts Sam’s proposal.

But once Nicole and Sam see each other for the first time, something feels off — and not just because Sam puts the ring on the wrong finger. Realising she made a massive mistake, Nicole breaks things off with Sam and reconnects with Benaiah once she returns to the UK.

“I made a decision that wasn’t quite right,” Nicole tells Benaiah. “You were so right, and I didn’t want to hear it. I am sorry.” He accepts her apology, and they get engaged before joining the rest of the couples on the retreat.

Back in London, a brush with Sam at group drinks brings out Benaiah’s jealousy, as the former claims Nicole wanted to get physical but Sam rejected her. Nicole and Benaiah ultimately choose each other and decide to get married.

Demi and Ollie - Didn't get married

Demi and Ollie were the last couple to get engaged this season. Their feelings slowly built up as they bonded over their London upbringings, shared love of sports, and cheeky senses of humour. “I do genuinely believe that a solid foundation for a relationship is a friendship, and I already feel like I got that with you,” Ollie tells Demi on their first date.

They even shared their views on starting a family. Demi nervously shared her endometriosis could make fertility difficult, Ollie meets her with openness and empathy. “It doesn’t change anything about the way I feel about you or how I feel about our future,” he tells her.

In the pods, Ollie also pursues a connection with Catherine, with whom he shares a more overtly sexual connection. But he instead proposed to Demi.

At the big reveal, Ollie was “blown away” by Demi’s beauty and she felt the same way. The pair explored their physical connection but their relationship was questioned by other pod squad members.

During a particularly tense conversation with Demi’s closest friend, Jasmine, Ollie storms off after feeling “interrogated” by the group. Despite the drama, the two head back to London and attempt to blend their lives.

At home, the couple thrives while spending time alone and meeting their respective families. Ollie tells Demi about his ADHD diagnosis, and they talk about each other as best friends as well as partners.

Sadly on their wedding day, Demi says no to the vows and left Ollie stunned. But they talked positively about the future, so this might not be the end for them.

Bobby and Jasmine - Did get married

Bobby was instantly attracted to straight-talking Jasmine, with Sam also keen to date Jasmine. Jasmine ultimately chose Bobby, and built a strong foundation with him, grounded in their close relationships with their mothers and hopes of starting a family one day.

When Bobby opens up about the death of his cousin, Jasmine is moved by his vulnerability. “I want to be your safe space to tell me anything that’s on your mind,” she tells him. “You are an outstanding guy.”

The two get engaged after Bobby rapped his proposal to Jasmine. “For me, it’s been quite apparent from the start that Jasmine was the girl for me,” says Bobby. “This is the best kind of love I’ve ever experienced.”

Despite some comments on other relationships, it’s smooth sailing for Jasmine and Bobby on the retreat. But once they return to life back home, Jasmine’s no-nonsense mother puts Bobby in the hot seat, and the couple faces the first major challenge in their fledgling relationship.

Her mother thought the pair are rushing into things, and this gives Jasmine a lot to consider ahead of their wedding day. After finally getting their mother’s blessing, they get married.
