BBC Death In Paradise star breaks silence on 'return' just months after exit

Death in Paradise returned to screens on Monday night with a repeat episode of the hit BBC drama and one of its show stars addressed a possible return after being quizzed by fans.

The 13th series marked the end of an era for the show, as the final episode saw DI Neville Parker (played by Ralf Little) finally sail into the sunset with DS Florence Cassell (Joséphine Jobert) after her epic return to the series.

The actress made a surprise return to the BBC show having previously departed in 2019.

In a Q&A with fans Josephine, 39, broke her silence about her future on the series as fans begged for her to return.

Taking to her Instagram Stories she responded to two questions about her time on Death In Paradise and one person asked, "I'm sure you've been asked a million times but... are you ever going back to Saint Marie?"

Josephine admitted she "sadly" had no plans to return to the BBC series.

"Yes, it's true, people still ask me this question a lot and I think it's really nice of them (of you). But sadly the answer is... no."

A second social media user quizzed, "Will you be back to Death In Paradise at least as a guest?"

To which she replied: "I already left and came back way too many times [laughing and heart emoji]. I think its definitely the end for me on Death In Paradise."

The actress made a comeback in the tenth and 11th seasons of the show before departing once again.

More recently, Josephine returned for Ralf's final scenes as he bid an emotional farewell as the show's longest-standing detective, but after the latest series, he decided to leave Saint Marie once and for all.

It was later announced that EastEnders villain, Don Gillet would be stepping into his shoes as the lead detective.
