Loose Women star hails son a 'hero' after health crisis forces emergency action

LW: Kéllé Bryan praises son after she suffered health scare

Loose Women's Kelle Bryan opened up about a harrowing health ordeal that left her in excruciating pain, forcing her to wake her 12 year old son for help.

On Tuesday's episode of the ITV programme, the conversation turned to a survey revealing that two-thirds of women delay seeking medical advice for health concerns for up to two months.

Ruth Langsford, addressing her co-star, remarked: "You've had a very recent health, I say scare, health nightmare!"

Kelle recounted the terrifying experience, explaining how she woke up in agony after an otherwise normal day.

She described the sensation, saying: "I recognised it because I'd had a brief encounter with it two weeks before so I had a feeling, this is kidneys. I had that sense. It's worse than labour, debilitating straight away."

When Ruth enquired whether it was a stabbing pain, Kelle recounted how the pain escalated and her inability to locate her phone.

She said: "In the end I had to wake up one of my children, I felt really bad but I thought, I just can't this is an emergency. So I crawled up the stairs on my hands and my knees and I woke him up."

Kelle shared the moment her son panicked upon realising the severity of the situation, prompting her to reassure him, reports the Mirror.

She continued the story: "I said, 'Mummy just needs your help, I need you to be really grown up and I need your help'. Then he said, 'Right, what do I need to do?'"

Kelle instructed her son to call his father and emergency services, and to bring her water and a bowl as she was vomiting.

She confessed: "He was just, adorable, he was my absolute hero."

Revealing her health woes on 'Loose Women', the star opened up about a kidney stone lodged painfully in her urethra, which eventually required surgical intervention to remove.

Kelle bravely spoke up about her generally healthy lifestyle but admitted that her diet played a significant role in her health scare.

She disclosed: "I overeat, which is weird. Too many tomatoes, too much spinach, so it's really about eating well but everything in moderation."

Loose Women continues weekdays on ITV from 12:30pm.
