Netflix’s upcoming serial killer drama Detective Hole has rounded out its cast with some familiar names.

The new series is based on Norwegian writer Jo Nesbø’s iconic crime novels following detective Harry Hole.

In Netflix’s upcoming adaptation, the fan-favourite investigator clashes with his long-time rival Tom Waaler, a corrupt police officer.

However, their rivalry takes a backseat when Harry discovers a notorious serial killer is on the loose.

Main cast members Tobias Santelmann, Joel Kinnaman and Pia Tjelta had already been announced and now the series has officially filled its supporting roles.

Joining the series are Peter Stormare, Anders Baasmo Christiansen, Kåre Conradi, Simon Berger, Fridtjov Såheim and Eili Harboe.

Swedish actor Peter is well-known to film and TV fans for roles in the likes of Fargo, John Wick and American Gods.

Kåre starred as Orm in the popular Norwegian comedy series The Norsemen, which also starred Fridtjov as Odd.

Eili recently made an appearance in the final season of Succession and has also been acclaimed for her leading role in the 2017 film Thelma.

Further cast members joining the series include Atle Antonsen, Manish Sharma, Henriette Steenstrup, Jesper Christensen, Kristoffer Joner, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Linn Skåber, Jonas Strand Gravli, Sonny Lindberg and Agnes Kittelsen.

The drama won’t be premiering until 2026, but there’s already excitement for the upcoming project among author Jo’s avid fanbase.

His books have sold well over 50 million copies worldwide, so Detective Hole could be in the running to become one of Netflix’s most popular series ever.

The drama’s official logline reads: “Created by one of the greatest storytellers in crime fiction, Jo Nesbø’s Harry Hole is a whodunnit serial killer mystery led by famed anti-hero Harry Hole.

“Underneath the surface, this series is a nuanced character drama about two police officers – and supposed colleagues – operating on opposite sides of the law. Throughout the first season, Harry goes head-to-head with his long-time adversary and corrupt detective Tom Waaler.

“Harry is a brilliant but tormented homicide detective who struggles with his demons. As the two navigate the blurred ethical lines of the criminal justice system, Harry must do all he can to catch a serial killer and bring Waaler to justice before it is too late.”
