Escape to the Country's Denise Nurse says 'steady on' as she issues warning over property

Escape to the Country couple emotional over property

Escape to the Country's Denise Nurse issued a warning to one couple who were quick to label a property as their "forever home" during the show's latest episode on Monday (August 19).

The programme saw Mark and Clare, a married duo eager to find their dream abode on the Scottish island of Skye, after selling their previous house.

With the urgency of finding a new home for themselves and their two daughters, the couple was guided by Denise through a series of potential properties. The first house they visited struck a chord with them, particularly with Mark, who was tempted to call it his "forever home".

However, Denise advised restraint since they hadn't fully explored the property or seen others she had lined up.

Mark, envisioning the future in the house, expressed his attachment, prompting Denise to comment: "I'm sensing a warmth towards this property."

Clare confirmed the sentiment, stating: "Yeah definitely! I think this is the first time we're looking for, what we call a home. I don't know whether we called anywhere our proper home," reports Wales Online.

Mark couldn't contain his enthusiasm, exclaiming: "A forever home. Dare we say that!"

Denise interjected the conversation, cautioning the eager house hunter: "Woah, woah, woah! Steady on there Mark!"

She chuckled at her own remark while assuring them they had made a promising start before guiding the duo to see more of the abode.

The first property seemed to charm Mark and Clare completely despite Denise's unexpected introduction of a mystery house; nonetheless, their preference remained with the initial property they viewed.

In the closing segment of the program, the couple was thrilled to announce their intent to make an offer on the house, indicating their readiness to proceed.

However, as the episode concluded, Denise disclosed that unfortunately, another bid had surpassed theirs.

Escape to the Country returns on Tuesday at 3pm on BBC One.
