Umbro and Children of the Discordance Release '90s-Inspired Collaboration

Umbro has been cooking as of late. On the pitch, the English sportswear company created some of the most sought after kits of the 2024/25 season, including a retro-inspired home shirt for West Ham United, as well as a special Bournemouth jersey made in collaboration with Michael B. Jordan.

Japanese label Children of the Discordance has united with Umbro on a seven garment collection that draws from the sportswear giant's '90s silhouettes. Founded by Hideaki Shikama in 2011, Children of the Discordance is known for creating sophisticated upcycled garments that draw on Shikama's personal collection, along with archival vintage pieces from around the world.

Shikama's latest collection is notably inspired by Umbro's line of football apparel from the '90s, particularly the Eric Cantona-led Manchester United teams, whose logo has been redesigned to say "Children of the Discordance", as well as an emphasis on split designed tops and bottoms that juxtapose technical fabrics and all-over prints with denim, cable wool jumpers and patchwork designs.
