Lisa Snowdon admits 'I felt unwell' as she makes candid career admission

Lisa Snowdon speaks about feeling 'unwell'

Lisa Snowdon made a candid career admission as she opened up on going through menopause as she admitted that she was "learning about what was happening to herself".

The Celebrity MasterChef winner, 53, appeared on James Martin's Saturday Morning, and talk soon turned to her book that she previously wrote, titled Just Getting Started: Lessons in Life, Love and Menopause.

Lisa went through the menopause in her early 40s and draws upon her own experiences in her book to help other women.

During the episode, which was a repeat, James started off by saying: “What a show we have for you today. But first, we start off with a model, TV presenter, and Celebrity MasterChef winner Lisa Snowdon.”

Lisa was greeted with a round of applause from everyone in the studio as Martin said: “I was doing some research last night and I read this book and I thought ‘she’s just won MasterChef in 2022’ so I was thinking that it was going to be a cookbook but no it wasn’t a cookbook.”

Lisa put her hands to her face and jumped in: “Oh, I know.” Martin continued: “Yesterday I got this book and it has opened my eyes into stuff that I didn’t know about at all.”

Stumbling on his words, he then went on to say: “Do you know what, it’s.... well anyway tell me about it, tell everyone about it.”

“Ok, so this is my first book,” Lisa explained. “And yes you’re right it was 2021 I won MasterChef and I thought that it would be a cookbook I would write first but anyway, this was kind of bubbling away. I was doing a lot of stuff with women’s health and learning about what was happening to me.”

The TV went on to open up about her health as she continued: “I was kind of in the early perimenopausal stages of my life and I didn’t know what was happening to me so I started to feel very peculiar, very strange, very emotional, quite unwell.”

She added: “I wanted to write this book that I wish I had ten years ago so it’s just kind of throwing all the nitty gritty into the mix and realising that it’s just a transitional phase and it’s not forever.”

James Martin's Saturday Morning airs on Saturday at 9.30am on ITV.
