Boy, 10, stabbed to death while playing football in Spain

A killer is on the run after stabbing a child to death in Spain.

The 10-year-old boy had been playing football with friends in the small town of Mocejon, an hour drive south of Madrid, around 9.45am this morning.

He appears to have been knifed by a masked man who had chased another group before turning his attention to the boy’s ground of friends.

The boy collapsed near the touchline beside the stands of the Angel Cardio sports centre, in the province of Toledo.

His killer is believed to have hid his face behind a scarf, before fleeing in a grey for Mondeo, according to police searching for his whereabouts.

There is no indication of a motive for the attack at this stage.
