Jurgen Klopp is set to return to the dugout for a special farewell match for Borussia Dortmund legends Lukasz Piszczek and Jakub Blaszczykowski. The former Liverpool boss has been enjoying his free time since leaving Anfield but will soon be back on the touchline for a unique one-off game.

In a promotional video published by Dortmund on Friday, it was confirmed that Klopp would return to the dugout at Signal Iduna Park for the first time in nearly 10 years. He will be involved as a manager with Piszczek and Blaszczykowski set to be given an emotional send-off after years of service to the German giants.

Piszczek, who is now a member of Nuri Sahin's backroom team at Dortmund, began the video by saying: "We have a farewell game, do you know that? We need a coach and I have an idea, we'll call the retired coach." The video was then split into three screens, showing Klopp with black sunglasses on.

"You finally have your farewell game," said the former Liverpool manager. "Oh my God. And you want to train, are you stupid? Klopp was then asked if he would be managing one or both teams and left the Dortmund legends in fits of laughter with his response, saying: "I couldn't care less."

The one-off fixture will take place at Signal Iduna Park, the iconic home stadium of Dortmund, next month. Klopp managed both players during his seven-year spell at the club before joining Liverpool, where he stayed for nine years prior to his exit at the end of last season.

Klopp has been linked with several jobs following his Anfield exit but has maintained that he will be taking a break from management on a full-time basis. At the end of July, he was forced to speak out against the links with positions popping up across the world.

"At the moment, there is nothing at all in terms of jobs, no club, no country," he said. "A few people must not have heard this part. And it would be the biggest loss of face in the history of football if you said: 'I’ll make an exception for you now'.

"I’m going to do some work. I’m too young to only do padel, tennis and grandchildren. Will that be coaching again? I would actually rule that out at the moment. Let’s see what it will look like in a few months. Nothing is coming through at the moment. Maybe we can talk about it again in a few months.

"I still want to work in football and help people with my experience and contacts. Let’s see what else there is for me."
